Excelsior Audio provides consulting, design, measurement
and analysis services in the field of electro-acoustics and acoustics. We are
located in Gastonia, North Carolina just minutes from Charlotte. This enables
us and our national or international clients to easily travel via
Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, a major hub for several airlines.

Our principal consultant, Charlie Hughes, has over
twenty-five years of experience in the field of electro-acoustics. During most of
his career Charlie’s primary focus has been loudspeaker system design and
optimization for directivity control and sound quality. He also has expertise
in measurement methods and software modeling. Charlie has designed over 60
commercially successful loudspeaker products. He currently has two
patents issued and one pending.
We specialize in consulting and design services to
manufacturers of loudspeaker systems. If you need assistance with the design of a
horn, crossover, enclosure or an entire system call us. We can also help you
set up lab and production QC measurement systems.
We also provide for the analysis, optimization and design of
loudspeaker system solutions for Houses of Worship, theaters and auditoria. We can provide
expert advice on sound systems for business. Whether you need a background
music system for a restaurant or office or a high powered sound system for a
club we can help you achieve your goals.
Our experience with listening, system measurement and
calibration allows us to accurately evaluate and optimize the tuning of your
home theatre or audiophile playback system. When necessary we can also
recommend acoustical room treatments to further enhance the capabilities of
your playback system.
